There are many types of audio players out there which can be quite overwhelming for the average non-techie shopper. After all, how is anyone expected to know the difference between flash drive and hard drive? And what's with expandable memories?

But the thing is, if you are planning to buy an audio player, you are expected to know all of this, especially if you want to make an informed choice. Don't worry, though. This article will help you with your confusion. Begin with the flash drive player. This type of audio player has a smaller disk space than the hard drive type. Now, you may wonder, who can possibly want a player with a small memory? Apparently, a lot of people do.

Many people don't necessarily want a player to carry their entire music library. They just want to have something to entertain them with their current favorite hits while jogging, working out in the gym, or driving. Since hard drive players have more disk space, they are heavier and bigger in size, making them difficult to carry around. Thus, flash drive players make a more practical choice. In terms of appearance and durability, they are similar to old school Walkman players.

Flash drive players also have cool extra features specifically geared towards people on the go. An example is a stopwatch, which is very helpful for people who work out. Another feature that's usually within flash drives is an FM tuner. If you're not in the mood to listen to your current playlist, you can always listen to your favorite radio station. This flexibility is attractive to many, and this is partly why flash drive players remain hot commodities even when up against the hard drive players.

Lastly, flash drive players are cheap. You can buy one for as low as $60. Even the more expensive ones are affordable at $150. You'll surely get your money's worth!
