So it may launch a device of its own with all the additional features. Apple may come up with new products in order to maintain its position in the market. Apple has to come up with something great. It's partnership with Motorola did no good to the company. It had no affect on the music industry market. The Apple-Softbank tie up may come up with a good mp3 player cum phone. The standalone mp3 players are going to crash badly in future. iPod needs to evolve as a device. It should have some additional features like a camera in order to survive in the market. The competition is very tough and the device with the best features at the most affordable rate will be able to survive. So there are testing times ahead for the iPod!
